I'm no biggest loser.
I've never lost 10 pounds in a week.
I'll never lose 100 in 6 weeks.
In fact, you could say that my weight loss is incredibly slow. Like a snail. In fact, since I started losing weight, I've lost an average of 0.53 pounds a week.
That adds up to 50 pounds. 50.2 pounds, to be precise.
Give a snail long enough, and it can get anywhere.
Give me long enough, and I might just make it to Hawaii. ;)
(I'll post pictures in the next couple days.)
You are far, Far, FAR better off losing that half pound a week, week in and week out. Most people that lose a lot in a short period of time gain it all back and sometimes more just as quickly. I'm down about 50 pounds, and at a fairly stable place, but I'd still like to trim down a bit more, and hope to find a stable place again.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss, it's really hard. You should feel proud of yourself.
Slow and steady is the way to go :)
ReplyDeleteLike you said it all adds up. A half pound a week might seem frustrating, but when you add it all up and it's over 50 pounds - that's awesome! And like Keith said you are much more likely to keep it off. Keep it going you are getting there!
ReplyDeleteI'm down about 30 lbs (give or take depending on the day) since Jan 1. The last half of that went much slower than the first. I totally agree that slow and steady will still finish, if not win, the race. Congrats on your loss! You and other former fatties are my inspiration.
