In light of that, I've decided to sign up for more!
November 6 I'll be running TEN KM at the run without borders. Then December 31, I'll be doing another 5K at the resolution run.

You might recall that I was debating whether I'd do a 10K next, or try to beat my 5K time. The answer, is both! I have just over 8 weeks until doing 10K, which is the perfect amount of time for many 10k training programs. Then I'll work towards getting a better time on my 5k, while still running the longer distances.
I am so excited to look forward to more races!

Yeah Congrats! I totally know how you feel about having a goal like that. That was one of my favourite parts about the RR clinics. They always had a goal race.
ReplyDeleteyou are officially HOOKED :)
ReplyDeleteYAY!! Having races on the horizon are so important for me too!
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out those races Deb! I have thought about the Resolution Run- just need to figure out my holiday plans before I commit to a race.
ReplyDeleteI do 10 and 1s for my long runs
(10k or more). I used to think that 10 and 1s were for beginner runners but I find it really helps me to run faster when I have the 1 min break. I probably average slightly faster than if I just ran the full distance, but I feel better and I know I am getting faster.
Try it and if you don't like it you can go back to no breaks.
So glad you've enjoyed the race -they really can be a fun environment, huh?!
ReplyDeleteI need to do some serious goal setting for the rest of 2010 and for 2011. I love the idea of the Resolution Run. Maybe I will join you next year. :)
